North Vancouver Basement Suite Entry
North Vancouver
2 Months
$27,000
Client's goals
The client wanted a new, dedicated entry for their basement suite: better privacy for everyone, better function, and proper access to the space.
A dedicated suite entrance separate from the main house
Improved privacy for both the suite and the homeowners
Safe, durable access with proper stairs and railings
Overview
Roka Projects built a new dedicated basement-suite entry for this North Vancouver home over two months. A new opening was cut into the existing concrete foundation, and the entry was built properly from the ground up: excavation, new formwork and concrete with a grade beam that carries drainage under the door, reinstated perimeter drainage, split-face block stairs, aluminum railings, and a new framed entry door.
Scope of work
New entry opening cut into the existing concrete foundation
Excavation and site preparation for the new entry
New foundation formwork and concrete pour, with rebar and a grade beam that lets drainage pass under the door
Perimeter drainage extended and reinstated around the new entry
Split-face block stairs built
Aluminum guardrail and handrail installed
New framed and finished entry with exterior door
Result
The suite now has its own entrance, and both households got their privacy back. More importantly, the entry was built like a permanent part of the house rather than an add-on: concrete, drainage, and railings all done properly.
