The homeowners called after spotting several safety and structural concerns around their home. Most urgent was a cracked structural support holding up the carport and the patio above it. While repairing it, we found the garage door framing had never been done properly: there was no header above the doors to take the load from the garage door springs, just a small piece of combed fascia haphazardly screwed in where solid backing should have been. While the crew was there, the clients also asked for the aging front concrete walkway replaced and the exterior wood stairs from the patio rebuilt.

Overview
Roka Projects resolved a list of safety and structural concerns at this Vancouver home in three weeks. The cracked support carrying the carport and patio was repaired first. That work uncovered garage doors framed with no header at all, the spring load carried by a scrap of fascia board, so the openings were reframed with proper headers and solid backing. The aging front walkway was then replaced in new concrete and the exterior wood stairs rebuilt.
