Finishing carpentry throughout the upper floor: new doors, trim, and baseboards
Fresh paint upstairs in bright, kid-selected colours
New carpet throughout the upper level
Overview
Roka Projects renovated the kids' bathroom of a North Vancouver family home and refreshed the entire upper floor around it, all in six weeks. The bathroom was rebuilt with practical, long-lasting finishes chosen to handle daily use, after certified asbestos abatement cleared the way. Upstairs, finishing carpentry ran through every room: new doors, trim, and baseboards, painting throughout in colours the kids picked, and new carpet across the whole level.
Scope of work
Kids' bathroom fully renovated with durable, practical finishes
Certified asbestos abatement completed before construction
Finishing carpentry throughout the upper floor: new doors, door trim, and baseboards
Painting throughout the upper floor, in bright colours the kids picked themselves
New carpet installed throughout the upper level
Challenges & Solutions
Asbestos in the Bathroom Materials
Challenge: Asbestos in the bathroom materials: pre-project testing found asbestos, something we encounter regularly in homes of this age.
Solution: We handled it the way we always do: a certified abatement contractor remediated the area safely, and construction started on a clean foundation. No surprises, no delays, and no stress for the client.
Result
The kids have a bathroom that can take whatever they throw at it, and the upper floor feels like a new house: fresh doors and trim, rooms in colours the kids chose, and warm new carpet underfoot. A cost-focused project that still touched every room upstairs.
